The rise, fall, and rebirth of Hong Kongs living light.

Hong Kong once blazed with neon. Its streets glowed in electric reds, greens and blues a hypnotic skyline that became one of the worlds most iconic cityscapes. Then, almost overnight, it began to vanish.

Neon Is Not Dead is the story of that light: born in Paris, perfected in Shanghai, celebrated in cities from Los Angeles to Tokyo and nowhere more brilliantly than in Hong Kong. Join us as we trace neons global journey and how it became inseparable from Hong Kongs identity. From legendary signs on Nathan Road to workshops where master craftsmen still bend glass by hand, we explore neons rise, fall and reinvention. This is more than nostalgia. Its a story of survival and reinvention, of communities fighting to save their landmarks and new generations reimagining neon for the future. Vivid, fast-paced and deeply researched, Neon Is Not Dead captures the magic of a living, global light and shows why Hong Kong remains its brightest star.

The limited edition includes an A2 folded poster featuring 21 legendary Hong Kong neon signs. One side shows illustrations; the other shares their stories from Australia Dairy Company to Jumbo Kingdom.
